What Turns Into an Accurate Number Fastest
A few photos of the stump from different angles, something recognizable in the shot for scale, and a quick note on the terrain between the road and the stump - firm ground, a gate, a slope, a spot that's been holding water. If you're dealing with several stumps strung along a property line, one wide photo showing the whole run beats a handful of tight close-ups every time.
We might text back a clarifying question or two, and for the majority of jobs that exchange is genuinely enough to land on a solid price the same day - no back-and-forth guessing about details a sharper picture would have already answered.
The Cases That Still Warrant a Look in Person
Photos have limits. A big stretch of acreage with more stumps than we can count reliably from images, a stump we suspect has grown roots into a driveway seam or a foundation footer, or ground we can't judge whether our equipment can reach safely - any of those gets a short in-person visit before we commit to a number, still at no cost and usually quicker than expected.
